how about some pvc tape and then glue? When I first started the plumping of my 120 - one of the return lines has a very slow leak right above my sink (luckily). I used some glue and it still had a slight leak - but now it's just dried salt. But I was thinking the pvc tape might also help.
alternative thought - just add a small "island" piece of LR in your sand area. A BTA could lodge itself just on the island - since they do not like the sand, it should remain there assuming water/light conditions are ok.
BTA may or may not host true perc/osc though - so if that is your choice...
:'( Bad news - I was checking on the clutch this morning and the eyes were developing and they had the nice "silvery" look. Then when I came home this afternoon - the clutch was gone. I am really bummed. Either they were eaten by the parents or the hatched prematurely.
I guess the only positive...
Tomorrow is likely going to be Clownfish fry day. The eggs are really silvery tonight and if I didn't know better they would hatch today - but it has only been 7 days at 80 degree temp. In the past they've been hatching around day 8 - which should be tomorrow night.
I expect very high losses -...
yes. However I am pretty lax with it - that is, all I am doing is making sure the fish is capable of eating and appears fine.
However I wouldn't QT if I bought my fish from Dr. Jim (sponsor who pre-QTs all fish).
In my experience - yes.
Also if it is significant - it can cause an uptick in temp.
That stated there are some really neat tanks that just use solar to light the reef!
I have no idea. I looked at it once and subsequently the display went haywire (to the point that the lights would not come on properly the next day). After a day or two of this - I stopped messing with it and left it on "auto".
Interesting results on the corals. My monitpora caps stunted...
your tank is nice. I'm impressed with the growth on your corals using the LEDs. Clearly the US made fixture appears to be better. Did you tinker with the lighting - it appears whiter. I recall the other pics of the LEDs (mine included) all tend to be bluer (and not necessarily nicer).
I'm using jazzsam's old G series 250W equivalent LED set up he purchased from AqOb. I do not mess with the thing. I just keep it on the auto-settings. I've started hunting for spare parts as a "just in case".
I'm not 100% sure but I was wondering if the lighting (longer period during the...
Thanks Bax!

I don't think i have enough for this batch - so it may be a lost cause. I picked up some ammonia badges and have cleaned out the 10G that will serve as the larvae tank. The BBS hatching station is also getting set up - but I don't know if it's worth it if I don't...
