Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
The BOD has decided for now any pic you take is permissible.
Meaning it can be your tank, an aquarium, LFS, scuba diving etc. The only thing not allowed is downloading pics from the Internet.
The BOD reserves the right to disqualify anyone they feel has violated any of the rules posted.
Please...
Saturday walking around the lake my wife and I saw a Great Blue Heron. She said its wing looks messed up and I said nah, its fine. Well Sunday came we saw it in the same spot looking the same way. I approached to get a pic and it tried to fly away but couldn't. So my wife tracked down someone at...
Updated link as I posted the wrong one.
My wife bought me this as a Birthday gift. Need to buy solution to calibrate but not sure where it what I need. Even if I knew how useful would it be for this hobby. I hate to sound unappreciative but for the money she spent i don't see it. I am...
So on a FB page people claim to use these as bulk heads with flat rubber washers or silicone. Cheaper than buying a bulk head from the LFS.
What do you think would you use these or not?
So the Nem seemed to like the cup, flow and light until the light fell.
I moved the cup best obvious for more light as it kept stretching out for it.
After work it moved here. Not sure what to do leave it, get another light and put back in cup. Any suggestions as I don't want it going behind the...
I sit hear at 4am and wonder if it's worth all the aggregation and heartache anymore.
I heard a loud gurgling noise and then like a draw or something closed. I assumed wife couldn't sleep and was watching something in her laptop. Just to loud and was done. I roll over and she is sound asleep; I...
I was cleaning the glass with a flip magnet scraper. I swapped it over and dropped the one magnet on the floor. So bent down to pick it up. I forgot the glass was not slid back and hit with my head.
It fell on top of me and tried to catch it but no luck, only grabbed one end; other end hit the...
I am trying to create a clear protector for my Torch. Someone suggested a clear plastic bottle with holes and weighted down to be placed over it.
This would give the Torch time to heal, nothing can pick at it and I can observe it.
Last night I peeled the label off a bottle and the glue part was...
Powerful the torch and placed in front of large nepthea. Seemed okay but not fully extended. During night it fell over so I just picked it up. The head were Very retracted. I assumed to much flow. Moved it farther back on side of tank. A few green heads popped. What's the best spot for it?
Not to impressive but works.
I forgot to pickup filter pads for the sea horse tank. Went online to order, expensive and a month to arrive.
So I improvised. Took the filter pad and cut out all material leaving the frame. Then cut up some blue/white and black carbon pads to size. Used a rubber...
I ran out of Gorilla Glue Gel and was going to order more but then decided maybe I should get coral glue instead.
Seems the Gorilla glue doesn't stick well and have to apply a few times.
Is there much difference between them?
In speaking with the BOD it was decided to bring this back and give people something else to do during these trying times.
In the past there was much angst over rule #2. The BOD has decided for now any pic you take is permissible.
Meaning it can be your tank, an aquarium, LFS, scuba diving etc...
With the new build I plan later this year was going to get a larger sump for a fuge or scrubber. But when I picked up the skimmers and the sump the other day, the sump is a nice size.
So I was wondering what if I split the return into two? One sump, the Elos for my skimmer and ATO plus return...
I picked up this skimmer the other day and the collection cup is broken off from the base. Jut wondering the best way to glue it back and not worry about it leaking.
Was thinking aquarium glue and rubber-bands around it keep nice and tight and let cure for a few days. Not sure if keeping the...
