The only thing that's leaked on my TLF was the inlet and/or outlet tubes, but since it hangs on the sump, they leaked into the sump. Little bead of aquarium silicon around the tube before putting it on solved that problem.
Now the Kent model on the other hand was a different story ENIRELY...
Never heard the "as much as their eye" thing. I'd think their stomach is bigger than their eye, no? LOL!
Anyway, generally, the rule of thumb is what they will eat in 2 to 3 minutes. But I think each "fish keeper" gets the feel for their own fish over time. For instance, I have a blue spot...
Sounds to me like you just need to fill the skimmer body up before you turn the skimmer on. If its empty, it is filling itself from the sump, and dropping the level in the sump. Either fill the skimmer body before turning it on, or turn it on and replce the water it takes in the sump with fresh...
Thanks Rod. Didn't even know a local store had gotten them in. Well, technically, nothing is local to me! LOL!
Been running mine for about, well, I guess its almost 2 months now technically. No issues so far. And I did replace the suction cups with a magnet, but they do have a magnet mount...
I'm running one on my 90. Depends on what you are keeping in there really. I have mine set up on the left side pointing towards the right, and so far I've been happy with the flow.
Seem to be finding mixed reviews online. Everything from they are the second coming of hitler to them being perfect little puppy dogs.
But, I have heard horror stories about emerald crabs as well, and I keep them successfully in my 90 gallon mixed reef. Rarely see them, but they don't bother...
Anyone ever keep any of these?
My girlfriend has a crab "fetish" and spotted these online.

I do. It's a monster! Did some research on them before I bought one. They are supposedly manufactured by the same company that manufactured the hydor koralia.
I will say this though. I didn't use the suction cup mount. I pulled a magnetic mount from one of the koralias I pulled from my 90 when...
I ran one like this with a skimmer. Depends on the dimensions of the trickle filter/sump, but a small berlin in sump filter fit in mine, BARELY.
The biggest problem you run into is, keeping the skimmer in the right side, the evaporation changes the water level constantly. Skimmers should have a...
The bottom glass, not the sides glass. I've let it rest against the back glass before, but I don't like to because if it shifts it can crack the glass if it hits it right.
+1 on this. I've had clowns topple entire rock piles on me. They are surprising strong and capable of yanking out key cornerstones alot bigger than they are!
The trick I used was put the mag float on the glass by where you are aquascaping. Keep checking it by moving it around. If it moves...
Looks like it's gonna be a beauty!
I'm considering setting my 210 up in my living room. Are you concerned about evaporation, salt creep, etc that close to the entertainment center? Wrecking my LCD tv has been the main reason I've hesitated on the idea of putting mine in that room.
Good luck with that! Looks cool so far. I think I'm more afraid of the small tanks than the jumbo sized! Seems every time I try something smaller than 75 gallons, it crashes miserably! LOL!
Anyway, try this guy for LEDs. I've been having really good luck with his LED tubes over my 90 gallon...
