Thanks Paul -- I was pretty sure I'd done my research on this -- just got concerned because my 180 was 1" all around and I couldn't remember why this was different.
Thanks for the rock suggestions -- I have plenty of time. We're moving in May so I just want this thing plumbed and ready to put...
I'm back in the hobby -- I hope! I had to break down my 180 a few years ago after Sandy destroyedit. I used the funds to purchase a beautiful setup (I think so anyway) - which has never been set up. I'm about to embark on this project but need a bit of advice.
I'm now in Westchester (instead...
Hello everyone! I haven't posted in forever and ever, hope everyone that is still around is doing wel.
I need some thoughts and help -- I've downsized my 180 and am moving to a 57 gallon Edge. In the inbetween time, I've moved some rock, my three remaining fish and a few softies into my old...
Cleaning out the attic and found this! It's in great shape. I used it on a quarantine tank years ago. It's a double bulb fixture -- one of the actinics needs to be replaced, the daylights are fine. Moonlight works as well.
Pickup preferred, but I can ship at your expense.
$60 - I'm in River...
I'm the manager of a restaurant with a very nice, diverse wine list. I love to drink wine, although I, too, cannot seem to keep wines in my cellar long enough to consider them collected. And, my pocket can rarely handle anything over the $40 mark. I'm in North Bergen and would love to hook up...
I've never had much luck with my caps when that happens to them. The only thing I've been able to do is to break off the white part of the cap to stop the progression. If memory serves me correctly, which it may not, I think that there is a bacteria that does that to caps.
Bill,
I'm actually looking for fish and just browsing. I'm getting a larger piece from adesimone - as long as I can find someone to bring it norther for me. I'm picking up some smaller frogspawn frags in Princeton and at AF tonight and then hoping that the clowns will host in them. I've GOT to...
I'd go with heat -- lost my fluorescent green in the heat wave last weekend. Although I've had that happen to a totally heatlhy-appearing colony overnight. Never figured out what caused it.
:'(
So, one hot day, my tank hits over 86 degrees while I'm at work. I came home to a cloudy, murky tank and 100+ heads of frogspawn with no polyps on them. My old tank would get warm with the hot weather, but nothing like this -- a guess a combination of more water and hotter lights took the...
If you're near Hillsdale - the glass shop in Hillsdale will custom cut glass pretty reasonable. When I looked at it it was cheaper than going with acrylic!
I had one set up in my hubby's store for the last two years. Admittedly I didn't pay much attention to it, BUT it was a great tank. The original skimmer never worked fantastically for us. I switched it to a Tunze 9100 which I could never dial in properly either. I'm sure that had it been in...
I evaporate out 3 gallons a day - 180 witha 40-gallon sump, open top. I'm sure that it will be more in the summer when I have the fan blowing on the sump.
Search on RC for posts by JeNnKerry -- they have had amazing success with gonis. When I had one in my old tank I read just about everything they had posted about them (which is a lot!)
I knew I wouldn't have enough time in the next few days to upload if I didn't do it last night so,,, photobucket it was! Still gotta work on the gallery issue.
