Actually once I siphoned all of these out of the tank, I "gravel siphoned" my shallow sand bed for the first time since my tank was set up and I have not seen anymore of these.

I had literally had more than 500 of these in my tank. I would wake up in the morning when the lights were off and they would be all over the glass. I bought a harlequin shrimp and I do not know if it ate any or not, but the best method for me was to get them out myself. I took tubing and...
I take back what I said about the Bellus Angel. I saw one yesterday (female) and bought it. Very nice looking fish and is supposed to be as reef safe as you can get for an angel.

You're taking a chance with any pygmy angel, but I think the bi-color are supposed to be no a good choice for a reef. I currently have a 75 and 90 gallon reef. In the 90 I have a Potters Angel and a Gold Flake Angel. They touch nothing. In my 75 I had an Ebli Angel that looked like he picked on...
Hi Dave,
I thought that as i was typing it but wanted to make sure. By the way, is it true that Cheato can release nutrients back into the tank? I noticed that I had a lot of cheato to prune and I see that the same areas that I had cyno in the tank seemed to return again.
Thanks,
Ken
Actually you can go down the aisle of any LFS and most of the stuff on the market is a waste of money. The less you put in your tank and mess with it, the better the results. Hands off = Better results!

I have a HOB refugium with Cheato only. I turn it and prune it weekly. I have this set up for a few weeks and I see quite a bit of hair algae and bubbles trapped in the algae in the two outside compartments of the refugium. Should this be removed? Why would I have this in here but not the...
I really would avoid this tank size. 13" is not enough space. I set up a second tank last year (46 gallon bow) which was about 12" on the sides and came out to about 15" in the middle. It was very hard to aquascape the rock. I ended up taking it down and going with another tank.

Set up the fuge last week and now I need to prune the cheato. Is there any certain way to do it? Does it matter if I cut away the new or the old and discard one or the other?
Thanks,
Ken
