Sell the kid, keep the fish!
The issue with tangs is that they need the open swimming space. Now I say that having two zebrasomas (which shouldn't be together), in a five foot tank. So take my advice for what it's worth.
I buy gas about every month or so....to have it ready. After that month or so, I dump that five gallons into my truck, and then refill that gas can. That way I always have fresh gas. That's the one thing that caught me on Sandy, not having the gas....and with no gas stations open until...
Yep! Stale gas. Glad to see you got it running. After Sandy, I drained the gas tank, and it sits dry right now.....ready to be gassed with fresh gas....and starting on the first pull.
Ed, this was my favorite nori that I use to buy at the East Brunswick Oriental market (on Rt 18). But they redid the store and reduced the selections of nori....and this one was no longer available.
To answer your question, I've tried a couple different varieties at H-Mart, and still...
Here is what I do. I purchase nori from my local oriental market....H-mart in Edison is a great store. I then cut the full sheets into quarters and put into sandwich bags. When I'm ready to feed, I'll take two of these sheets and first fold them in half and cut:
I will fold this again...
The door is always open amigos! And actually my Spanish is terrible....I spoke German at one time.
Don't you just love auto-correct....even in Spanish?
Now, back on track with amino acids.
Kevin, I think you might have meant "dos amigos".....two friends. The only dosing I have done to friends is with alcohol.....and in some cases, more or less, as far as the number of friends. Right now, I'm self dosing, and it's fine!!! So I guess that's "cero amigos," unless you wish to...
Hadn't heard about your little fish kill. The million fish kill in Keansburg made the NY network news last week. At first they didn't know what to do with the fish, but eventually found a landfill that took them.
I found a power supply that would work, but can't seem to find a US supplier, and have seen reference to the fact that these power supplies are extremely expensive.
The Inventronics EUC-096S070DV(SV) would work as a replacement for your fixture....found HERE.
I'll keep looking because I know...
James, I've looked for them is the past and never found anything. I'd suggest looking at Mouser HERE. What's important is Constant Current of 630 mA (or there about), and dimmable voltage of 70-120V on the Output side.
Now Apollo eventually switched over to Meanwell drivers (as seen in...
Wow! That must have been a long time ago because we now refer to Julian in the past tense....Julian Sprung!:D But then again, he probably had hair back then.
Welcome to the NJRC!
I didn't know that about Banggai.....makes me feel a little better over the loss of the ones I had a couple years ago. I now have pajamas, and wonder if they are short lived as well??? They are easily more than 2 years old now.....probably more like 3 - 4.
I think it's stability. If the water is always at temperature X, and really never fluctuates, then you're fine. However, if you see swings of 4, 5, 6 degrees or more....now you have problems.
I know the same thing can happen with nitrates. If you slowly build up nitrates, fish and some...
I think you have a couple options, but without question, you need to purchase your very own RO/DI unit. With that large a tank, it will pay for itself fairly quickly.
Options (that quickly come to mind):
1. What @art13 suggested above....pump out, pump in.
2. Automate with a dual head pump...
