Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I used aluminum angles to support my LED fixtures and it works great. If you do it, I'd recommend having a center support though because without it, the weight of the fixtures will make the angle sag over time. It doesn't have to be real wide, just something to support the weight in the...
Welcome to the boards reeferkid. It sounds like you have a great start going there and if you're looking for help or advise, you will surely get it here.
The one parameter you gave that stuck out the most to me was the Calcium. 600 seems really high! A reef aquarium is recommended to be in the...
Looks great Juan! Very well done. I really like the rounded routing work on the inside of the door frames. Gives it a really nice touch.:encouragement:
Welcome back Sandee. Haven't seen you around for a while so good to hear from you. By the way, I just saw your membership renewal come through, so I upgraded your forum account for you.
As for the brittle stars, I have a ton of them but I don't live very close to you. However (it's not official...
Champion Lighting has Blue Line Titanium Heaters with a really good controller. They also give club members a 10% discount too (you have to call Gary to get the discount).
These things are very reliable.

Sorry, I have to agree with what Paul said too.
Not only do water changes add the necessary trace elements that your corals use up to grow, but they also eliminate some impurities that build up due to feeding, fish waste, etc.
Dr. Tim's is good to use to jumpstart the biological filter, but...
Sweet! That's a huge tank and really looking forward to seeing some pics of the build when you can.
Where do you live? Maybe some of us live near you and can give you a hand or stop by to give you some ideas. :encouragement:
Yea, we tend to go the extra mile and try to put on a mini MACNA so not many Swaps can match ours. But any time you can go to a swap, even a small one, is a chance to find some nice pieces at good prices so it's always worth going if you can make it.
Just think, you won't find that good of a...
I paid about $180 for this through our Group Buy in July and planned to use it for my new upgrade as a return pump. I hooked it up to a manifold that fed my carbon & GFO reactors and also my UV filter. This thing is dead silent and runs great, but I just didn't have enough flow going through...
I'll be there. Not sure who the vendors will be. Was wondering that myself. Looks like there are 4 of them shown at the top of the ad, but the poster says 12+ vendors so there won't be a whole lot of em.
Just wanted to give a big thanks for hosting another fantastic meeting. We had a blast making the fish food. Even though it was smelly and a few of us got to wear some of it, it was a great experience and I'm sure our fish will appreciate the effort we all put in. Everyone got involved and...
I agree that is a suitable fix option. Hadn't thought of that, but it's always good to get creative juices flowing. Hopefully those brackets are SS also.
I would move the clamp to the plastic frame instead of on the glass though.
Adding this after seeing the pic you added....
That's a long tank and the brace looked pretty beefy. And that was a pretty big chunk you took out of the brace so not much chance of repairing it. I would suggest ordering a new top frame.
But I highly suggest using a wood working clamp or...
