Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I think if they put signs up in the stores saying "Expect the equipment to be the cheapest part and it will cost roughly 50$/gallon" there would be precious few folks in the hobby! LOL! Luckily we get sucked in by the beauty, intrigue and challange before we realize!
It is beautiful! Thanks for sharing your photos with us and welcome to the forums. That looks like bright green psamaccora on the rock? Looks like it from here.
What have you done already? Have you taken it apart (unscrewed the impeller assembly, etc) yet? That's usually our first step. Is it spinning at all? Making ANY noise? Bad noise? If it isn't moving at all, hopefully cleaning the impeller assesmbly will fix it.
The company will likely send you a...
Your Mg is probably low and depending on if you are 2.8 or 1.7 might be a bit low. Overall not terrible! Just bring down that NO3 and PO4 and you'll be in good shape.
Ack. Not exactly advice to save our ocean resources with.
We have a small piece of egg crate that covers from the top of the back of the tank to the canopy. It covers the gap between the tank an the canopy where it is exposed. The only wrasse we have is the Mystery.
I don't know of a salt on the market that would put 520Ca into your water straight up, let alone when mixed with existing water. What salt was it and are you sure your test kit/use is accurate? What is your Alk? Mg? It would help to know what your other related parameters are (think of these as...
If you like what you have now then just add the third light/bulb and be happy. The lumenarcs are some hefty light pushers. Your corals will light shock and your algae bloom like mad if you don't govern that implementation, should you decide to change (just ask Billy what happened when he...
Welcome to the club! I do know that some folks are still running UGF, but if you're just setting up a new tank I would go ahead and pull it out. No point learning the pit falls with that when you could just do it using more current technology.
Live rock and powerheads would be fine, though I...
I have my effluent dripping into a cup mounted above the water line in my sump with the PH probe in there and then overflowing into the sump. Works fine for us, in case you don't get the PH probe holder.
You can use your controller attached to your ACJr as a controller to keep the PH of the effluent consistant and get a monitor to track your tank PH. Or you can get a second controller to monitor the effluent.
It is an LPS, they aren't all that easy and very difficult to frag (need a wet saw). How long has your tank been running? What are your current parameters and what corals do you have already?
