You nailed it!! 24 hrs and a circ pump.. Same here. I use to not do this with my other tank and i noticed the skimmer would stop skimming for a day. Now the skimmer don't miss a beat. But then again that was a different skimmer and it was more sensitive

Just curious how many people let their water age and how long ? Before performing a water change.

I have an instant ocean- ocean master from petco i think. Seems to work ok. Has all your basics in it. I'd like to try those suction cup ones that stay in the tank

The last thing you want is heat issues, and they're easy to get on the smaller tanks. If it weren't for fans my fish would be fried!

Yeah actually the 2 I have out of direct light look the fattest. They ok in the sand? Will a sand star bother them? Also are they ok if the sand gets kicked up on them here and there?

I had them in my last sump too. Someone said they might be pineapple sponges? I guess leave it be and let nature take it's course

I must have over a thousand sponges in my sump. They are little white ones from 1/8" - 1/2" in size. Should I leave them be or clean them out with the next water change? Do they do any good for your tank? Any harm?

Wow really? Mine use to go crazy for it. Just walking by the tank with it they be goin nuts! Actually when I first started feeding it it took a few days for them to be comfortable enough to come out and eat it. I guess just try more food. Fatten those puppies up!
