I had a thought(scary huh?), what is your PH? What do you have to facilitate gas exchange? A skimmer would do it, or overflow, or HOB filter. Just hate to see you have a super low PH due to the completely sealed top.

Noise and reliabilty wise for the cost the Mag is great. Heat entirely different story. With the Mag 18 you can run a good manifold size wise.

Yeah that tank might be a bit small for QTing those. Just make sure you QT your fish. Bunch of explanations on how to do it. Unless you buy from Dr Jim then you are good to go. That tank will be good going forward for smaller fish though. Good to know you are planning ahead. :)

I never noticed noise with my Mag pump for what it is worth. At least with the ball valve you can tune it to see what is what with the water sound.

Yeah that sounds good for the 10G. So you already have it planned out. Man the 10G I had was a mess, yours looks so much better already.
