Just a side note....I think it is best to add your LR first then sand. I liked putting something on the glass ... I used cutting boards... another option is egg crate. If you have any sand burrowing critters they could in theory collapse your rocks if you put the sand down first.

I have used one of those in my nano too. Saved me early on when I had problems would just hang a bad of it near my return pump.

Rocks displace water so is possible you have 100G ish or actual water.

I like the in sump pumps. More a matter of simplicity then anything. External pumps means you need to drill and few other things that I preferred in sump. Making sure that everything fits is a very good idea. Here is my fuge, skimmer, and general setup. No longer use coralife timer FYI. [/img]...

Make sure you blow off your rocks you probably have a fair amount of nutients in the rocks and sand....and run carbon and phos/silcate medium.

Running carbon will help too I suppose if there is any left.

Well I can say I like the new rockwork better. :-\ Shame for sure, it is a real kick in the pants to get a generator of some sort so that is a positive. It is a cool crab glad it survived.

OG II has sale on Reef Crystals....160G bucket will last you a lonnnng time. I have had good luck with them. You won't need tons of calcium with zoas and rics.

I will also point out that you have 6 fish in a 34G tank. If that is not overstocked it is close and you have to feed more then your biological filters can probably handle. That plus tap water makes a murky situation. Make sure you stir up your tank before water changes to get out as much crap...

Agree you need to find out what is causing it, without a doubt excess nutrients. Question is are you feeding way to much or is there excess in the rocks? Suggestions I have. 1) agressive water changes 30% per 2) check actinic bulbs how old? 3) turkey baster the rocks before water change 4) run...

Coraline tends to change a bit by the color of the lights it is under.

AO stocks them. FYI I would use some of your old bulbs for a few more months. Generally I rotate half my bulbs every 6 months.

Not picky they eat both.
