Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Ed, I sent you a PM for your address. It's been ten years since I was at your house (for my first NJRC meeting.) I think I remember how to get there, but would prefer an address to be sure. Thanks
I just don't see the need with us now having the ability to post pictures directly. But then again, I'm not tech savvy.
As far as storing pictures, get Google Photos....it's free and they are stored in the cloud. Neat features as well, like facial recognition. They also send movies and...
I'm curious why we would want to host pictures here when we can now load them directly. I see the potential of this being abused, loading, as an example, pictures posted on eBay. Why would we want to do that.
James, thanks for the offer for attempting to fix my Tale, but it isn't...
With our old website, we had no option of posting pictures directly.....you had to use a service like Photobucket.
With this new website, we can post pictures directly by using "upload a file." Is this the same as what you're now proposing?
I'm also curious what Reef2Reef does.....my...
I have no qualms with PB changing up their business plan, but what bothers me is that there was no notification. There are small mom and pop businesses relying on this service, and now they are trapped into paying $400. They advertise a monthly fee, which I'm sure the majority would take as...
Photobucket is no longer free for third party hosting! On top of that, any past post, here's the picture you now see:
For me, that's over 2000 pictures. No notice or heads up.
Mark, I believe we are wanting the same thing.....listing of sales for paid members only, but viewed by all to see (and buy)......win/win!!!!
I would really like to know the reason this didn't pass through the Board....I'm at a loss.
The decision has been made, but I am compelled to throw in my two cents.....
1. In many cases the stuff being offered for sale is the kind of stuff newbies are looking for....that us old-timers have no need. Many newbies are not educated enough to become paying members and therefore can't see...
I'm assuming the $20 skimmer is one of those wood air-stone skimmers. They will work, but you can't use a small $6 air pump to run them....they work when using a higher pressure/high flow expensive air pump. By the time you buy the air pump along with the $20, you could have purchase...
James, I'm extremely low tech. I do own a phone but am very atypical in that my phone isn't glued to my palm. It's most likely lost in the house somewhere with a dead battery. However, I still have the ability to quickly change light colors the low tech way with the "Mood Setter" Kwik change...
The 500 watt bulb crapped out in the big tank and @Timkatz71 convinced me to switch to LED. The replacement bulb was only 35 watts.....7 percent of what the original bulb was burning....cha-ching! The bulb was installed today and I'm delighted.
If you need pool maintenance of any kind...
