    Aquarium care center ACC

I just got back from ACC, and they made good for me. I was told that credit only lasts 6 months. They didn't tell me that when I got the credit at the end of October. Anyway, they made good on it and I picked up a Hawkfish, Yellow Wrasse and Filefish. Their last day is this Saturday...

    Aquarium care center ACC

I just went on their site to check the actual amount of my credit....somewhere in the area of $250....AND IT SHOWS ZERO, ZILTCH, NADA, NOTHING! I'll be down there when they open.

Well that's disappointing...I've got somewhere in the area of 250 in credit.

    Buying a new 90g

Great choice....not only is that price unbelievable, the one thing I didn't like about the "standard" 90 I had was the 24 inch depth....you can't reach the bottom without contortions and getting wet. Now if you're into big fish....aka an Oscar...I'd go with the 90.

    Buying a new 90g

If you go to Hidden Reef, very close by is Fish Factory....small but I was more comfortable buying livestock from them. At the time Hidden Reef had flatworms throughout all their tanks. Also, I'm pretty sure my last salt buy was from Something Fishy in Northhampton, PA....north of Hidden Reef.

    Buying a new 90g

Agree....Hidden Reef sells tanks at cost thinking that they'll make up the difference when you buy all the extras. I say that not having been there for over a year. I wasn't aware of their salt prices....I use to go to Sealevel, but their prices went up. My last major salt buy was from...

    Ecotech MP10W ES spare parts

Meant to say amps above and not wattage....although related. I just checked the one MP10QD I have and it's 24 volts, 1.5 Amps. Note that the linked power supply above is 3 amps....and it's not a problem to be rated at a higher current...just don't want it to be lower.

    Ecotech MP10W ES spare parts

It most definitely has value! Unfortunately you will need to purchase the wetside from Ecotech....and the price just continues to go up....now 75-80 bucks. The good news is that I'd recommend not buying the power supply from them...they are standard power supplies and Ecotech wants 60 clams...

How do you get the fish out?

    Melanurus Wrasse

I've had a whole bunch of luck with a bottle trap....with one little modification....you cut a small hole in the side to fit the end of a turkey baster. Put the trap in your tank....actually leave the trap in your tank so the fish become use to it. Now fill the turkey baster with some delicious...

    Reef Safe Butterfly

I’m assuming you’re talking about dwarf angelfish, which all come “with caution”. That said, I’ve had coral beauties, flameback, and flame angelfish with luck. That luck might be that I’ve had so much coral I didn’t notice they were munching on it.

    Need a Maxi-Jet 1200?

Bob, you do know (and I'm terrible with time) maybe 5, 6, 7 years ago Marineland resourced the MaxiJet 1200 from an Italian manufacturer to some Chinese manufacturer and these "new" pumps were very poor quality. If you want an "original" MaxiJet, you have to buy a Cobalt MJ1200 from the...

Acrylic tank company reviews and questions

I'd suggest you look at Glass Cages. I don't have direct experience with their acrylic tanks, but I did purchase a glass tank from them and I thought it was very reasonable. Oh, and I'm extremely happy with the quality of the tank.

    Petco or PetSmart

@Mark_C , that's the one.....Petco in Brick. Thanks. I've got the QT set up and ready to go. I also have a $275 credit at ACC, which will probably only buy me a couple guppies.

    Petco or PetSmart

I'm down to five fish, haven't purchased any in years and planning a fish run. I'm going to hit the typical LFS's but I want to include either Petco or Petsmart in Ocean or Monmouth or somewhere down south. Some of you have mentioned one of these that has a decent saltwater section and...

Tank birthday and I'm a Geezer

Wow Paul, she sure sounds like she's doing a whole bunch of "Doot Da Doo- Doot Da Doo." As a matter of fact, so much "Doot Da Doo- Doot Da Doo" that I wouldn't be a bit surprised if she also ends up with back issues. That much Doot Da Doo- Doot Da Doo can be dangerous. :oo:
