Ok, so this is the wrong that I got from a fellow NJRC member and there are some interesting things going on. First I have what looks like a thick white coating that is growing on the rocks and it is not putting out white feeders of some sorts! You can barley see them in the pic but in person...
WOW, I never knew what I could feed and to what until today! I have had a wide variety of LPS for a while now and never fed any of them and they have done fine. Today I was feeding my anenome and decided to test a few things out. With a combo of Silver Sides, Clam, and squid I moved some things...
So...... I just got my first anenome today so I went out and got two clowns for it. These clowns are tank raised and now I am reading that tank raised clowns may not even know what an anenome is! Does anyone have any advice as to how to "teach" the clowns they can host it or should I just try...
So I just got some rock from a felow reefer who got it from another reefer. So this rock came from a tank breakdown, got put into a container with water, then drained and made it to my house, then put into my new tank.
So from all of this after the sand settled guess what I found........ To be...
So...... Ever since I got my new tank running I have not been able to get the PH up. It will stay around 7.9 to 8.0 if I do nothing. I keep getting it up with some of the ideas from people but it will always go back to right around there. Everything in my tank is doing great! The LPS, SPS, Clam...
Anyone have any ideas how to get a fish OUT of an overflow? I just got him yesterday and he jumped right into it after being chased a little bit. I was hoping he would take the magical water slide into the sump but he seems happy swimming at the bottom.
So, I have been having troubles keeping my PH up. It got down to about 7.9 and then I added some calcium (purple up) and it jumped right up to 8.02 and I was happy but a couple days later it is now down to 7.78! Now it is back up to 7.85 but I want it to stay around 8.0 to make me happy. What...
So, I got into poison ivy AGAIN! (I think someone is doing this on purpose!) I have recently found out that salt water is great for poison ivy so guess what I am doing all day today?!?!?! WORKING IN THE TANK!
Anyone in the central NJ (somerset) area is welcome to stop over this monday for a cook out at my place. There will plenty of food and drink. If you RSVP here I will PM you my address and phone. It should be a good time. Hope to see some of you stop by to say hi.
Sam.
I FINALY FIGURED IT OUT!
OK........... If you want to hook up a Tunze to an aquacontroller and want it to actually do what you tell it to you need a GROUND! It works PERFECT with an extension cord attached to it that has a proper ground but it does not work at all without one. I just testing...
Everyone, I have a RO/DI unit that I got about 1-2 months ago and it has been working GREAT up until yesterday. I turned it on and now water is going everywere. I tightned up everything I could on it but what would make it just go crazy like that? I never had 1 drip until yesterday and then...
Everyone, I just hooked up 2 Tunze Powerheads to my Ac Jr and I am trying to turn them off and on with it. Sounds simple? Well..... I am having issues.
When I force it off it will actually say it is off but the powerhead does not turn off! If I unplug it and plug it right back in when it says...
Everyone, I have a nice little Tunze nanostream and the little brackets have broken off of the inside magnet. I think I can just superglue this back on and be fine but I am not sure what is safe? Any opinions? Can I just use frag glue or will that not be strong enough?
So I need to identify what my problem is before I can fix it! Here goes........
I have a buildup on my glass, sand, and even on my fish! It kinda looks like diatomes but now it is starting to have a green look to it. It builds up so fast that if I don't clean the glass almost every hour there...
Thanks to everyone that helped with the "tank lift" today! It went VERY smooth! Much smoother than anticipated thanks to some great planning. It was not just extra muscle that helped with this one but also the extra brain power!
Hopefully I will be able to put some pictures up of the tank with...
I have a relitivly new Acro in my tank that has started to fade bad. Should I put that higher in my tank or lower? I figured that meant it was too much light so I moved it lower. The tank I bought it out of it was sitting at the bottom. What does everyone else think?
