I'm on vacation and i havent put in the window unit in the room the tank is in before i left. its getting really hot in there needless to say. I dont have a chiller or anything. The temp has gone up to 84-86 for about 15 hours or so now. is there anything that i can do to cool down the water? im...
I bought this tank a few weeks ago and i dont think its going to work for what i want. I spent a bunch of time cleaning it and scraping off paint. This is the rimless version with the corner overflow. Comes with some plumbing supplies and upgraded bulkheads, i have the old deep blue bulkheads...
I think im going to go with some sort of structure made out of vidarock for my next tank. does anyone know if any of the stores around here have it? i would like to check it out in person before buying it.

So as much as I try to resist upgrading, I'm not sure if I can do it. An ideal tank would be something like the deep blue 80g frag tank. 48x24x16. If i went custom i would probably do 44x28x16. i know trop and hidden reef have some pretty good deals on tanks and i think i'll go look at trop soon...
Has anyone checked these out yet? I think try just got released. I think I want to get one of these for myself for christmas. I would really like to stop feeding so much frozen food and the feeder should work well when you can't be home to feed the fish. Anyone see any flaws?
ive recently noticed that my main zoa colony has been mostly closed up during the day. i didnt really think much of it. two days ago i found a small neon green nudibranch on the glass. at first i thought it was pretty cool and i knew that the regular nudbranches are ok for reefs so i didnt...
I just got this stuff in the mail today. The directions say to dose 10mL per 10 gallons. Ive never dosed anything before and this is probably a silly question to most, but do i add this to SW when im doing a water change or can i just add it right into the display tank?
thanks
I just got back from vacation and the tank seems to have been taken over with this reddish/brown slime algae. it forms in long strings and made its way on top of off most of my coral making them all unhappy and closed. my nem has completely closed up to the point where it can't host the clown...
The large exo-terra glass terrarium near the bottom is only listed for $26. Not sure if you can use it as an aquarium but its still a steal if you have other pets. Its the same dimensions as a 40breeder i think. Its gotta be a mistake so i would order it now if you want one...
My tank really needs some SPS, and i think i like acros the best. right now i only have a small stylophora frag and two montipora frags. Both types seem to be doing the best out of all my LPS and sofites in terms of growth. Once i finally epoxied my stylophora the growth has been through the...
I'm in the very northern tip of NJ this weekend and will be leaving tomorrow afternoon. I've never been to any of the reef shops up here but I know there's a lot more than south nj. I was wondering, which one should I stop by on my way home tomorrow? I'm not looking for anything super special...
Went to the hidden reef today and saw that they had some really small goldstripe maroon clowns for like $10. I've been trying to pair my regular maroon with another maroon and had no luck with the last fish. this time i also picked up a breeder net so they dont absolutely kill each other like...
I saw these guys at the Camden aquarium and have been interested in keeping them ever since. I know they only live for a short while, are hard to find, and will eat other tankmates. Has anyone else ever tried to keep them with success? Anywhere to find them in NJ? Thanks
